Influences
"Great British Railway Journeys" is a BBC 2 documentary travelogue that follows Ex Conservative MP Miachel Portillo as he travels around the U.K on the train to visit people and places of special interest recommended by his 1840 Bradshaw Guide. This programme has a tea time slot of 6:30pm on weeknights and is broadcast for 5 weeks per series and appeals to a variety of peoople such as rail enthusiasts and historians. I like this series not just because it features railways but Portillo meets a rich variety of people while on his travels and it explores real life case studies which I find fascinating, I hope to incorporate similar elements into my documentary.
