In the opening scene of the film where Matt has the phone conversation with his former commanding officer we plan to use a split screen effect to show both Matt and Holden at the same time during the conversation. The TV series 24 often uses split screens to show events occuring in different locations at the same time. John Frankenheimer's Grand Prix (1966) and more recently Guy Ritchie's Snatch (2000) are examples of films that also exploited this effect. More relevent to our film is the driving TV advert "THINK!" where a phone conversation takes place edited in a split screen style.
