As with any films, establishing shots are extremely important to setting the scene. Because my film is set in a college I had to choose the best locations to show. These ended up being the main entrance with the bus stops in front of it, the top half of the dining hall, and also a section of the quad where lots of students tend to walk around between lessons.
For the main entrance I placed the camera on a low tripod and starting on the floor I tilted up whilst zooming in on the words Winstanley College.
For the dining room I panned along from right to left from quite a high angle shot.
And for the quad I set the tripod up and did a high angle shot in a still position.
