Evaluation 2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Creating a brand identity sums up what the genre and the tonality of the product. The product should be instantly recognisable in any form of media and be set aside from any others. Various different things contribute to a brand identity such as the colour scheme, the logos, fonts and sometimes even the music. If branding is done right then the audience should easily be able to identify the theme of the product.

Here is my films title in its original form and also as it appears in the three different media forms.

The original logo. The logo as it appears on the poster. It has been slightly edited so that some of the blood splats don't interfere with the smashed glass effect.

The logo as it appears when featured on the magazine cover. I added a faint white outline to it so that it sits nicely above the other images and text on the cover. I also tilted it slightly to make it slightly more dramatic looking.
The logo as it appears in the teaser trailer. I put it on a shattered glass background to make it similar in style to the poster. I also included the credits at the bottom.

Unlike some films which have slight variation in the logo between the different forms of media, my logo stays almost exactly the same in each form.

Another aspect of my film that remains consistent and effective in more than one form of media is the style of the photo used on the magazine cover and the poster. The high exposure and contrast levels make the image quite striking and immediately recognisable to my style of film. The use of unnatural background colours on the magazine and poster are also similar with the use of purples and reds fitting well with the high saturation levels used. Here is the poster background and the magazine background with everything removed from in front.

One final part of my brand identity is the films tagline.

It pretty much sums up the film as a whole and also rolls off the tongue quite nicely.
