Album Cover Inspiration

We have been searching the internet for inspiration for the digipak that we must create as part of our project, specifically the album cover. We have been exploring the album covers of various artists that share a similar target audience to the one that we will have. Here is what we have found:

This is the album cover to Snow Patrol's 'Eyes Open'. We really like the visual and think it is particularly inspiring as it features the silhouettes of both a male and female, which is potentially what out album cover will have. The text is very simple and the focus is on the central image.

We have noticed that many of the indie-rock genre album covers feature animation and are very colourful. This has really got us thinking about the presentation of our album cover.

Here is another example of animation being used for an indie-rock album cover. The designs are often quite simple and quirky.




This album cover uses the artists and is very colourful. We like the eye-catching colours and the oil-paint effect used. The text is very simple, quite like the Snow Patrol cover.
