When we started

editing our first shoot one of our first ideas was to cut up a scene we had of Emma dancing to create a disjointed effect. We then rearranged all the pieces until we had an order that we liked. By using jumpcuts it creates a party/out of control atmosphere. As our clip was filmed in silhouette, the sequence all runs smoothly as all you see is a black figure dancing. We were extremely pleased with the effect that we created but we then decided to try different effects on the sequence. The effect that we found particularly useful is
Opacity - Colour burn. To achieve the effect on the right we copied and pasted the sequence that we already had into the video 2 slot and positioned it to be a second behind the original. After that we changed the opacity on the secondary sequence to 75% and employed the colour

burn technique. As you can see, the effect blends both colours in the backdrop together and creates a faint shadow that follows the main image. I think that layering both images on top of each other has created a similar effect as to how people see the world when they're drunk. This sequence will follow one of Emma shotting vodka, so it works as a sort of mini narrative within our video.
