I took photos of some existing newspaper pages to see their adverts and how they are used, i noticed that on the inside pages of the newspaper there was often more than one advertisement surrounding the article, usually at the bottom of the page. The adverts advertised local businesses and events and used eye-catching fonts, colour schemes and photographs to attract readers to their advert.
I noticed that on alot of local newspaper front pages a banner advert was positioned at the bottom of the page, this is usally brightly coloured and advertising someone's local business with only part of the detail telling you to turn to a certain page to view the full advert, this is effective because it makes sure that the advert as seen, whereas if it was just on an inside page, the page may not be read or the advert may just be ignored.
I will now go on to create a few adverts to go on the front page and inside page of my newspaper, i will take into account aspects from this research such as the banner advert, the bright colour scheme, photographs and bold text.
