Dawn Of The Dead (original)

The original Dawn Of The Dead was quite popular but mainly because of the success of the original Night Of The Living Dead which was a breakthrough film. This film however was in colour rather than in black and white which shows the flaws such as poor quality makeup much more than Night Of The Living Dead.


Unlike the remake (which was quite gritty) the original was quite cheesey and slightly amusing, however I'm not sure whether this was mainly because of the poor quality of the makeup and effects.

I think that it works well as a trailer provided that you have either seen or hear of Night Of The Living Dead, however if you haven't the first half of trailer is virtually useless. The voice-over is quite creepy in a cheesy 70's sort of way, however more modern films generally don't tend to go for that option.

I think that quite a few of the shots of the zombies could be re-created or adapted moderately easily for use within my trailer.
