Evaluation 3. What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

As I was going along making my media products I constantly asked opinions from other people in my media class and also anyone who was involved in acting/filming for me.

I received lots of feedback whilst experimenting with face paints for my zombies. I asked the zombies opinions on what it looked like as I was doing it, and also uploaded a couple of photos onto Facebook to get feedback from my friends online.

Here is a discussion that I had about fake blood with someone on facebook. (I'm the red one)

Here are a two other photos of zombie ideas that I got feedback on.

The majority of the feedback on the early stages of creating my zombies was successful so I used that when I actually made the film so that the zombies would look as good as I could make them with the budget. I also made a decision about changing my poster design based on comments made on Facebook.

After finishing most of my products I decided to get some feedback on which music would fit my unfinished trailer the best by setting up a facebook poll to see which of my three suggestions was the best.

'Hands off the Wheel' by Oleander was a clear winner which is why I chose that one over the others.

The most feeback that I got however was on my finished products, the majority of which was positive. Most of the people who commented where roughly the same age, however seeing as my target audience was 15-21 year olds this was not a problem. Here is a video that sums up the feedback that I received for my trailer.

I also uploaded the trailer onto facebook aswell so that I could get a fairer representation of peoples opinions because people are always a bit reluctent to be honest to your face unlike on the internet where they'll say whatever they feel.

I also uploaded both my poster and my magazine cover to facebook aswell so that I could get some audience feedback about those aswell.

I have learnt from my feedback that my media products have been quite successful, especially with the age group that it was aimed at. Facebook has been a very useful tool in finding out this information. The feedback I recieved from people in the early stages was also very helpful as it helped me to build on the things that proved to be succesful with the audience.
